The return of "Sounds from Stirling Castle" concert

Erskine Veterans Charity to host the return of Sounds from
Stirling Castle 2024 Concert

Scotland's leading Veterans charity, Erskine, is back with a bang, hosting an unforgettable evening at Stirling Castle as the historic landmark celebrates its 900th anniversary as a Royal Burgh.

"Sounds from Stirling Castle" promises a night to remember, with Erskine Veterans Charity ambassadors leading support for the charity.

Renowned Scottish musician and radio presenter Gary Innes will host the evening's festivities.

Gary said: “I am delighted to have the honour of hosting such a prestigious event in aid of brilliant charities like Erskine and The Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders Regimental Museum. This evening will showcase some top-tier music from an exceptional lineup of guests.”

Among the stars gracing the stage is the Forces sweetheart, Welsh songstress Kirsten Orsborn. Kirsten said: “I’m really looking forward to seeing all of my dear friends at Stirling Castle. I’m truly honoured to be part of such a special event. It will be one to remember.”

Music lovers will also be treated to spellbinding performances from Mànran's Ewen Henderson and BBC Radio Scotland finalist Rory Matheson, along with mesmerising tunes from world-class military bands of The Royal Air Force, The Royal Regiment of Scotland and the Pipes, Drums and Dancers of Queen Victoria School.,

The evening’s headline sponsor is the Nurture Group, the award-winning national horticulture and landscape maintenance contractor, whose CEO Gareth Kirkwood said, "We are deeply honoured to support Erskine Veterans Charity. At Nurture, our commitment to the Armed Forces is reflected in our ongoing efforts to support Veterans and their families. Holding the Armed Forces Covenant Silver Award, along with our partnership with Erskine, enables us to give back to those who have given so much for our country. We aim to create a successful collaboration and make a meaningful impact on the lives of Veterans."

Local heroes to the Erskine Veterans Village, Two Towns Down Brewery and McGills Buses, will add to the night's charm by hosting a pop-up bar and providing a shuttle service for performers, respectively.

As one of the event’s beneficiaries, Alan Carmichael, CEO of The Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders Regimental Museum, said: “The Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders Regimental and Museum Trusts are proud to partner with Erskine Veterans Charity for this wonderful fundraising concert.

“This event allows both charities to raise crucial funds to continue providing exceptional care and support to our Veterans and to maintain the Argylls Regimental legacy through our museum and education programme at Stirling Castle. We look forward to welcoming our guests to our historical home and the ‘Sounds from Stirling Castle’ concert.”

Wing Commander Ian Cumming MBE, Chief Executive at Erskine, added: “We are thrilled to host the return of the Sounds from Stirling Castle in such a historic and iconic setting. The association between the Argylls and Erskine stretches back over a century. By attending this evening of music, you can help us make a difference to the lives of our country’s Veterans who have sacrificed so much. We look forward to the evening immensely.”
