Young Dancers steal the show at Veterans Military Ball
Guests at the recent Military Ball held by the Erskine Veterans Charity were treated to a wonderful opening to the evening’s entertainment.
A dazzling performance by the dancers of the Elite Academy of Dance and Alba Ballet had their audience mesmerised as they watched the 10 dancers glide effortlessly through their routine.
The Elite Academy of Dance is a dedicated Royal Academy of Dance School of Classical Ballet and Alba Ballet is the only touring youth ballet company in Scotland who perform the traditional classics such as The Nutcracker. Both are based in Inverclyde.
The guests of charity, which supports over 1,000 veterans every year, watched a performance to the famous Dambusters tune, created specifically, by the Principal of both schools Julie Kavanagh, for the Ball.
Julie's group of performers came from Ayrshire and Inverclyde and were aged between 15 and 17.
The dance school shared their thanks for being involved in the event- “The whole experience was amazing, and the girls didn’t want to leave they are still buzzing! They would have danced the whole night if they could”.
Erskine Events and Sponsorship Manger Jennifer Campbell said: “We are delighted this amazing group of young dancers could join us, and our guests even more so. Their Dambusters performance was a very special moment in what was, once again, a fantastic evening and we can’t thank them enough.”
