Veterans Mark Anzac Day

On 25th April Erskine recently took time to mark Anzac Day, the national day of commemoration of Australia and New Zealand for victims of war.

ANZAC stands for Australian and New Zealand Army Corps.

Veterans joined with others worldwide in recognising the role of Australia and New Zealand’s armed forces.

The date marks the first major military action fought by Australian and New Zealand forces during the First World War.

Around 8,700 Australians died during the 1915 Gallipoli campaign, where 75,000 Anzac troops fought in perilous conditions for eight months, in a battle that has defined Australia's national identity.

From all at Erskine, in memory of those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom, we salute you.
