Veterans' Delight At Supercar Event Invite

We would like to thank Mark Ryan from Driving Scotland Group, and also the wider and close community of Scottish Car Clubs for the very special event on Saturday 15th April to which Erskine residents, staff and volunteers were invited.

It was a day all involved won’t forget for a long time.

Everyone gathered early Saturday morning. And we can say without a shadow of a doubt everyone was overwhelmed by the fantastic gathering of Super/Sports and Classic cars on display.  Everyone was delighted to be told they could pick which car they would like to travel in, all the while enjoying some refreshments, after all it was a big decision to make.

Erskine Edinburgh Activities Assistant Lynne said: “Resident Cathy and I were in the Rolls Royce whilst maybe not as fast as the other cars the sheer elegance and history of this car far outweighed speed. Cathy and I felt like royalty waving to everyone!”

A police escort was provided by Police Scotland to cross the Queensferry Crossing Bridge. This was necessary as the cars were travelling in convoy to the first venue. To the delight of Erskine guests this was the fantastic Knockhill Race Circuit.  Our residents were honoured with the Parade Lap which they were asked to participate in.

Then it was time to move on to the splendid surroundings of Crieff Hyrdo Hotel where everyone enjoyed a delicious lunch

After the wonderful hospitality the Erskine guests departed tired but very, very happy after such a wonderful day.

Our thanks to all who made such a wonderful day possible.
