Charity Curry Night Benefits Veterans

RAF Veteran Robert MacRae-Clifton from Newark, Nottinghamshire organised a fantastic charity curry night in the 1937 built Art Deco Bar and Restaurant, The Carron to Mumbai, in Stonehaven, on the 3rd of August.

Bob sold tickets to family and friends for the evening which was in aid of the Veterans charity Erskine.

Bob said: “My mother was a WREN in the early fifties.  My father was a Clearance Diver for 27 years and decorated twice.  I myself was in the RAF for 12 years.  As a family, we have military history back to WW1 with the Royal Navy, Royal Naval Patrol Service and British army, all Infantry (Border)”

At the end of an evening, the highlight of which was the delicious food, which featured fantastic entertainment, by IceKool Katz from Aberdeen, over £1,000 had been raised.

Bob said: “My sincere thanks to Abdul Hamid and his team for working so hard to make this event possible. And to all the charitable people who came along for the evening and supported the Erskine Veterans charity. At a guess my mother would have been the oldest veteran at 91. Also thank you to all that donated raffle prizes especially to Giulianottis yet another historic Stonehaven gem”.
