Navy, Army and RAF compete in Rugby Union Tournament

Erskine was delighted to be invited along to the Tri Service Scotland Rugby Union Tournament 2022 which took place at the Oriam Centre, Edinburgh.

Teams from the Royal Air Force, Royal Navy and Army in Scotland competed for the Veolia Armed Forces Scotland Nevis Trophy. The best of the Navy, Army and RAF in Scotland went head to head in a round robin tournament from which the Army team emerged victorious.

Also attending were Scotland area representatives of RAF Benevolent Fund (RAFBF), Army Benevolent Fund (ABF), Royal Navy & Royal Marines Charity (RNRMC), Erskine and Poppy Scotland.

Erskine Chief Executive Ian Cumming said: “It was an honour and pleasure for Erskine Veterans and staff to be invited by RAF Scotland & Northern Ireland Rugby to attend this fast-paced round robin tournament, after a hiatus of two years.  We all thoroughly enjoyed the event and the opportunity to hold the Calcutta Cup! We all congratulate the Army team who were victorious over the RAF in the final match”.
