Erskine, Scotland’s leading Veterans’ charity is in the mood for celebrating! Not one, but two prestigious awards were collected at the delayed Scottish Care ‘National Care Awards 2021’ held recently in Glasgow.
First to the podium was Home Manager Alison Payne to collect the award for ‘Care Home Service of the Year’ on behalf of the Erskine Edinburgh Home.
Next was Erskine Deputy Director of Care, Pauline McIntyre, a worthy winner of the ‘Management and Leader’ Award.
Erskine’s Director of Care, Derek Barron said: “I’d firstly like to congratulate Alison and her team at Erskine Edinburgh on this well-deserved accolade. The past two years have been exceptionally challenging and this recognition of excellent teamwork and staff dedication, focussing on people centred care, during extremely difficult times is very well deserved. We are incredibly proud of everyone who contributed to Erskine Edinburgh winning this award.”
He continued: “While we work as a team, wrapped round the care of our residents, it is good to stop occasionally and recognise the exceptional contribution of an individual, and that is what the Management and Leadership Award gives us the opportunity to do. The award recognises Pauline’s individual contribution, effort and the expertise she brings every single day to her work here at Erskine and in her contribution to the national agenda. We are very proud of Pauline and the achievements leading to her winning this prestigious award, made even more meaningful coming from peers across the Scottish Care Home sector.“
The Charity’s Chief Executive, Ian Cumming said: “Being shortlisted for three awards, and winning two, is a huge honour and speaks volumes for the professionalism, compassion and innovation of our staff to have our work recognised in this way. As one of Scotland’s most iconic and trusted charities, we could not staff to such high ratios, or provide the unique expertise and care facilities that we do, without the trust and support of a veritable army of volunteers, fundraisers, supporters and donors”.
