Happy Birthday ERMAC!
This week the Erskine Reid Macewen Activity Centre in the Erskine Veterans Village in Bishopton marks five years since opening its doors in January 2018.
Then the centre was a completely new initiative for Erskine, set up to enhance the quality of life and wellbeing of Veterans in the community. Open every weekday, offering Veterans the opportunity to socialise together; learn and develop new skills; enjoy a variety of activities as well as access support services.
The varied programme of activities, which has grown over the past five years, changes on a weekly basis and is put together based on suggestions from the Veterans. Sports, recreation, music, films, and other skills such computing, woodwork and arts are all extremely popular. As well as simply relaxing with fellow Veterans.
Support offered includes drop in sessions delivered by a range of organisations providing information and advice.
