As Erskine and Bowls Scotland move forward with their recently launched partnership, aimed at creating new pathways for Veterans into lawn bowls within bowling clubs throughout Scotland, our fantastic volunteers are never far away.
At the recent Bowls Scotland National Championships in Ayr our volunteers were out in full force.
They met up with Bowls Scotland CEO Alan McMillan, who took time out of his busy day to have a chat. Alan said: "I enjoyed speaking with the young volunteers with the Erskine charity for veterans. They are so enthusiastic about supporting those that have supported us all in the armed forces".
Together Erskine and Bowls Scotland are working together to promote the mental and physical benefits of playing bowls. The two organisations aim to increase the opportunities for Veterans to take up bowls, while supporting Veterans who are already part of the nation’s thriving bowls community.
Good luck to all our Bowls Scotland friends who are competing in the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.
