Erskine Veterans Charity is Celebrating Volunteers Week 2025

Erskine Volunteer Development Manager, Diane McAllister: ‘This Volunteers Week (2^nd to 8^th June), we are proud to shine a light on the incredible dedication of our Erskine volunteers. Across our care homes, activity centres, and fundraising endeavours, our volunteers give their time, energy, and compassion to support our Veterans and their families.

To recognise their invaluable contribution, we are hosting three special get togethers during the week at Erskine Edinburgh, EVAC North and in the Erskine Veterans Village, bringing our volunteer community together to celebrate, connect, and reflect on the difference they make.

These moments of gratitude are just a small token of our appreciation for the immeasurable impact our volunteers have every day.

To every Erskine volunteer — thank you for your service. We are so grateful to have you.

Just two of our many volunteers are Steve and Margaret.

Steve is ex forces and has been volunteering for two years now.  Steve volunteers with residents activities, fundraising, events and is a dab hand in the gardens. He says: “For me it's about giving something back to the guys. I think I get more out of it than they do"

Margaret who has been volunteering for 9 years now. She has volunteered with physiotherapy, activities and used to run a tea trolley service. She says: “I enjoy talking to people and helping out the veterans. It's a lovely place and volunteering is a great experience. I would recommend it.”
