Thank You to Officers’ Association Scotland
Officers’ Association Scotland has kindly awarded an incredible grant of £10,000 to Erskine’s Activities Centre. This will provide crucial funding for our Centre’s Deputy Manager post over the next twelve months as this valuable service reaches even more veterans, spouses and carers living out in the community.
Erskine’s Activities Centre opened in Bishopton in 2018 to provide social opportunities, recreation and support for disadvantaged veterans. The Centre currently has over 200 active members who are aged 18 to 97 and live across eight local authorities. Our members can learn new skills, meet like-minded fellow veterans, access support services and engage in a regular programme of activities and outings.
Our Centre currently runs over 45 activity sessions per week including IT courses, art classes, woodwork classes and complementary therapies. We also host regular visits and sessions from partner organisations to help veterans access additional specialist support when needed.
Our Deputy Manager plays a crucial role in supervising and delivering the Centre’s services. We are delighted that Officers’ Association Scotland has chosen to support this project. The Trustees have been hugely generous to Erskine in recent years and we would like to sincerely thank the Association again for continuing their support with this generous grant.
