Erskine Veterans Activity Centre North joins the Forres community in marking Remembrance Day ahead of opening of new centre

In a display of respect and remembrance, Erskine Veterans Charity took part in the Royal British Legion Remembrance Service in Forres on Sunday, 10th November.

The ceremony, held at the Forres war memorial, was especially poignant as it took place across from the soon-to-be-opened Erskine Veterans Activity Centre North (EVAC (N)), which will offer a vital support hub for Veterans in Morayshire and the Highlands.

Davie Grant, manager of EVAC (N), represented Erskine by laying a wreath to honour those who served and sacrificed.

He said: "It is an honour to lay a wreath on behalf of all Veterans — those we’ve lost and those fortunate enough to return.

“Next year, we look forward to commemorating this day alongside our new members, creating a space that reflects our collective respect and remembrance.”

Wing Commander Ian Cumming MBE, Chief Executive of Erskine, expressed deep appreciation for the Forres community's warm welcome. "We are both proud and humbled to be welcomed into the heart of the Forres community on such an important day. It is an honour to lay a wreath in remembrance of those who sacrificed so much for our freedom. We look forward to embedding ourselves in the community through EVAC (N) and supporting Morayshire’s Veterans for years to come."

Set to open in just a few weeks, EVAC will be located in the former Victoria Hotel and provide a dedicated space where Veterans can gather, connect, and receive support services.
