Erskine lights up at Tree of Honour Event

The Erskine Veterans Charity has proudly hosted the annual Tree of Honour event at The Erskine Home in the Veterans Village, Bishopton. The event featured carol singing led by the Paisley Salvation Army band and a Tree dedication by the Reverand Graham Morrison. This was followed by the lighting of the magnificent Tree of Honour which was kindly donated by Richard Irvin FM.

Navy Veteran Hillary Hunt was delighted to have the honour of lighting the hundreds of twinkling lights that adorned the tree saying that she loves Christmas and was delighted to do the honour of lighting such a beautiful tree.

Veterans, staff, volunteers, families and friends from the local community had gathered in the freezing conditions to enjoy the ceremony and join with the carol singing before heading inside for warm mince pies and mulled wine in the Bunker whilst enjoying entertainment.   The evening certainly lit up Erskine for Christmas.
