Veterans First Point relocates to Edinburgh site

Erskine is delighted to be welcoming Veterans First Point to the Erskine Edinburgh Veterans Village in Gilmerton. Recently V1P relocated from their Lothian site to work in partnership with Erskine, alongside Combat Stress and the Army Personnel Recovery Centre.

V1P’s first one-stop-shop opened in 2016, developed by Veterans for Veterans and staffed by an alliance of clinicians and Veterans. Provided as part of the NHS V1P now operates in six locations.

Erskine - as Scotland’s foremost provider of care for Veterans and their spouses, as well as providing unrivalled nursing, residential and dementia care in three homes, assists younger Veterans to begin the next chapter of their lives. They offer social, recreation and training facilities within an Activity Centre as well as Transitional Supported accommodation.

Erskine Veterans Charity is confident that this additional collaboration with V1P, along with existing partnerships, is testament to both charities commitment to meeting the evolving needs of Veterans at every stage of their post-Service lives, in keeping with changes in Veteran demographics and requirements.

Veterans First Point said: "Veterans First Point Lothian is delighted with the recent move to their new premises at Erskine Home Edinburgh. The co-location of Veterans First Point with partners at Combat Stress, Erskine Veterans Charity and the Personnel Recovery Centre will allow us to work more closely and collaboratively with colleagues across the sector and ultimately provide the best care pathway for our veterans. We look forward to welcoming veterans and partners to our new home"

Erskine Chief Executive Ian Cumming said: “We are delighted to announce the relocation of Veterans First Point Lothian to our Edinburgh Veterans Village. The co-location of Veterans First Point alongside Combat Stress, our Nursing Care Home and the Personnel Recovery Centre creates a spectrum of services of relevance to a wide age range of Veterans in the east of Scotland. It also affords us a platform for enhanced collaboration in the delivery of services to our Veterans. This new partnership is the latest step in the evolution of Erskine’s service offering, to ensure we continue to address Veteran’s needs and we look forward to working with Veterans First Point Lothian on our shared mission.”
