Erskine staff and residents are in a celebratory mood after their Director of Care secured a surprise win at the Scottish Care 2022 Care Home Awards Ceremony in Glasgow.
Shortlisted as finalists were both the charity’s Erskine Edinburgh Home and Physiotherapy Service. The Edinburgh based Care Home in the Care Home Service of the Year Award and the Physiotherapy Department in the Specialist Service/Unit of the Year Award.
Although not winners on the evening a surprise category at the end of the ceremony was announced -The Scottish Care Home Strategic Contribution Award. And to the delight of the Erskine staff attending it went to Erskine Director of Care Derek Barron. The award recognised the extensive, valued expertise and contribution Derek has made to the care sector throughout the pandemic and as we move into a different phase.
Derek said: “I’d firstly like to congratulate both Erskine Edinburgh team and the Physio team for their finalist nominations. While we work as a team, wrapped round the care of our residents, it is good to stop occasionally and recognise the exceptional contribution of our staff. In respect of my own nomination I am immensely proud to have received this prestigious award, made more meaningful coming from peers across the Scottish Care Home landscape”.
Well done to everyone.
