On Friday 12th May Erskine Veterans Charity will join in worldwide celebrations to mark International Nurses Day by hosting the very first Erskine Conference at The Erskine Home in Bishopton.
Honouring the birth of Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing, International Nurses Day 2023 is themed “Our Nurses, Our Future” focusing on what is required for nursing of the future to address health challenges and enhance healthcare worldwide.
The commemoration honours and recognises, not only the invaluable contributions of all nurses, but the vital role nurses play in the healthcare field and the responsibility they carry for the well-being, safety, and recovery of people experiencing illness.
Erskine Director of Care Derek Barron said: “The profession of nursing faces many challenges but nurses work tirelessly for those requiring nursing. Nurses play an essential role in providing care and support to people in their time of need. The diverse range of care offered is reflected in topics our speakers bring to the conference podium today.
He continued: “With the dedication and commitment of Nurses we can ensure that people, in our case residents, receive the best care and support possible. And it is with this in mind we join in the worldwide celebrations on International Nurses Day to show our appreciation for the dedication and commitment of nurses everywhere.
The Erskine Conference, to be held in The Bunker of The Erskine Home in Bishopton, invites Erskine Registered Nurses and Senior Care Assistants to join the activities of the day.
Addresses will be made covering topics such as diabetes, pain management, wound care and delirium to name but a few. All designed to ensure the day is not only interesting but positive and stimulating.
