Erskine, Scotland’s leading Veterans’ charity is in the mood for celebrating as Director of Care is honoured at Scotland Awards

The Erskine Director of Care, Derek Barron has been recognised for championing the role of nursing in social care. Last night at the prestigious RCN Scotland Awards, held in the Edinburgh, Derek was awarded the “Strategic Leadership Award”.

Derek, who has been Erskine Director of Care for nearly seven years, spoke of his delight at an evening of Erskine success: “Here at Erskine we work as a team, wrapped round the care of our residents, however it is a great honour to be recognised with the RCN Scotland Leadership award, made even more meaningful as I feel that this again recognised that working in the care sector gives you the ability to remain as a leader within health and social care in Scotland.
