ERMAC Social History Project: My Life Through World War II

The National Lottery Heritage Fund - ERMAC Social History Project: My Life Through World War II

We’re thrilled to have been awarded a grant of £10,000 from The National Lottery Heritage Fund for an exciting new project at Erskine Reid Macewen Activities Centre!

My Life Through WWII is an oral history project that aims to capture for posterity the enormous wealth of life experience of Erskine’s Veterans, focusing on those who lived through World War II. Whether they served in the war or experienced it as a civilian adult or child, My Life Through WWII will allow veterans to tell their stories in their own words. These conversations will be documented in a book at the end of the project, and in teaching packs for primary and secondary schools. We’re also looking forward to meeting some of our local young people as we build relationships with schools through the project. Watch this space for more updates!
