This Care Home Week, we asked our Director of Care, Derek Barron what the week means to him.
"Care Home Week gives us here at Erskine a time to focus on and share some of the excellent, person-centred care that is delivered daily in our Homes.
Residents are at the centre of our daily activities. Our staff care about our residents. Delivering excellence in care is what drives them every day. Residents enjoy spending time doing meaningful activities with staff, in the Home as well as participating more widely in their communities.
I’m proud to be the Director of Care at Erskine, this focussed ‘care home week’ gives us the opportunity to share the work we do every day to support residents to live the most meaningful life they can. We are partners with the resident, their loved ones and our staff to ensure residents are central in everything we do."
In our Erskine Park Home Activities Assistant Carol McPhail said: “To celebrate our wonderful home we decided to throw a party on Wednesday afternoon. Everyone knows how much we love to party at Park and with the help of our friends and amazing entertainers Hugh, Shane and Charlotte we sang and danced all afternoon.
Everyone enjoyed refreshments and nibbles and since this was a special occasion, a box of goodies to enjoy after dinner. What a time we had as you’ll see from the pictures. We even had our friends from fundraising taking to the dance floor. Here are some images to enjoy.
