Cadets Put Best Foot Forward for Erskine

Erskine has welcomed the 1 & 3 Platoons (RSB) Strathaven & Newmains Army Cadets’ hard work and fundraising for the Erskine Veterans.

The young cadets (pictured) have had a busy summer as they undertook several fundraising events including attending the Strathaven Balloon Festival.

At the Festival they had a large bouncy castle and the donations received from parents of youngsters “wanting a wee shot” on their bouncy castle soon mounted up.

Not content with that the cadets then completed a sponsored walk around Strathclyde Park raising a hugely impressive sum which brought the final total for Erskine Veterans to £3270.

Jim Watret, Community Fundraiser said: “Our residents were delighted to hear that the young people had raised such a large amount and would like to thank each and every one of the cadets who took part in the events”.
