Objectives

  • To offer a place for Veterans to reconnect with their community, learn new skills, and rediscover a sense of purpose
  • To provide relevant guidance and advice in partnership with specialist organisations
  • To engage Veterans in the design and delivery of services, encouraging skill sharing

Eligibility

  • Any Veteran who has served as a member of one of the HM Armed Forces as a Regular or Reservist or on National Service or were:

    • A Member of the Merchant Marine and were deployed on active service in support of the armed forces
    • A Member of the Royal Fleet Auxiliary
    • A Member of the Home Guard

Venue

Housed in the historic former Victoria Hotel on Tytler Street in the centre of Forres, EVAC North aims to serve the Veteran population in Morayshire. Morayshire boasts the highest concentration of Veterans in Scotland, thanks to the presence of nearby military bases such as RAF Lossiemouth and Kinloss Barracks. EVAC North is a hub for Veterans to reconnect with their community, learn new skills, and rediscover a sense of purpose.

What’s on offer

Social – EVAC North is a space where Veterans can share experiences, build friendships, and find solidarity among peers who understand the unique challenges of military life.

Activities and skills – Veterans can participate in a wide range of activities, such as archery, woodwork, art, IT skills, and gym sessions.

Support - The centre will connect Veterans with tailored support services, including health workshops and collaborative initiatives with local organisations.

Opening Hours: 09:30 - 15:30, Monday to Friday

Please note we will be closed over the festive period, reopening date in 2025 to be confirmed. 

Drop in for a couple of hours or stay all day
