David Glancy is a solicitor and legal manager in a government department where he has worked since 2001, having previously been in private practice.

He is a former Army reservist who served for 22 years, including a period of regular service as a rifle platoon commander with 1 RHF, serving in Berlin, Kenya, the UK and Northern Ireland, retiring in the rank of Major.

From 2008 until 2010, he was seconded to FCO, and served on the staff of the British Embassy, Kabul, supporting Afghan law enforcement and justice personnel in their investigation and prosecution of serious crime.

He is married with three adult children and resides in the West of Scotland.
